Neighborhood Block Watch Meeting: October 28

We have set October 28, 2008 at 6:30 pm for our neighborhood block watch meeting. It will take place at the West Seattle Library in the meeting room on the lower level. An officer from the SW Precinct will be there to share information on personal safety, preventing crimes involving property and vehicles as well as emergency preparedness.

We are targeting both sides of California Ave between Holgate and Walker and adjoining streets to set up this block watch, but anyone living nearby is very welcome to participate. We will be making an effort to drop of flyers at homes and buildings prior to October 28.

Seattle is known for having many neighborhood block watches – it is a great way to get to know neighbors up and down your immediate blocks. It does not involve patrolling your neighborhood, it essentially means staying in touch with neighbors so that when unusual things happen in the neighborhood, it is obvious. Phone contact lists can be made for those neighbors interested in participating in the block watch.
